The International Foundation for Protection Officers (IFPO) will conduct a three-day executive workshop focusing on integrating security into organizational strategy using a Balanced Scorecard approach. The event, titled the Security Strategy Practicum: Balanced Scorecard Approach, is scheduled to take place at the World Trade Centre Dubai from January 12-14, 2026.
This intensive practicum aims to equip security and business leaders with actionable methods to connect security programs with quantifiable business achievements. It is designed to foster a deeper understanding of how security initiatives directly impact financial results, operational resilience, customer confidence, and internal operational efficiency.
Security Strategy Practicum Focus on Measurable Impact
The workshop will delve into methodologies enabling attendees to align their security efforts with overarching organizational objectives. A key component will be the application of business-relevant metrics to effectively demonstrate the return on investment for security programs, facilitating clearer communication of their value to executive leadership.
Participants will explore strategies for enhancing cross-functional collaboration between security departments and other business units. Additionally, the practicum will address leadership development essential for proactive risk management and building organizational resilience in the face of evolving threats.
Organizers have indicated that the workshop is a response to the increasing demand for security leaders capable of articulating the strategic importance of their functions. This is particularly relevant in today’s complex and dynamic operational landscapes. Six participants have already registered for the upcoming session.

The Security Strategy Practicum will feature instruction from three internationally recognized specialists in their respective fields. Mihai Ionescu, a strategy expert and senior consultant, will share his extensive experience in strategy formulation and the Balanced Scorecard methodology, accumulated over a decade of advising organizations in Europe.
